Planning an Escape Room Outing using Doodle.com

One of the hardest things to do when planning an outing to an escape room is finding a time where the most number of people can attend. There is an online tool for that called Doodle (doodle.com) that makes it easy to propose dates and times and let your friends and family let you know what time slot and date work best.

Using Doodle.com to schedule an escape room is easy and free. Visit Doodle.com and click the big blue “Plan An Event” button. Simply type in a name for your event, and add the location (Gateway Escape Rooms will populate the field as you type it in) and a note, such as “Dinner afterward” or “Birthday Party” etc.

On the next screen choose a few dates and times for your escape room session – we suggest at least two dates and a couple times per date. Our website has all our available sessions listed, so you can choose a start and end time based on those available bookings.

The next screen asks for a little extra information, including your name and email. After that, you are given the option to copy a link to the Doodle.com poll, or to enter the email of your invitees.

If you enter the email addresses of your friends and family, they will get a link to the poll via email. You can also send a direct link via email or you can share your link on Facebook. Nobody need sign into Doodle to enter their preferences, they just have to type in their name.

As the organizer you will get email updates when people make their preferences known, and in just a day or so you will find the best date so that the most people can join you at our escape room. The final step is to make your reservation.

The staff at Gateway Escape Rooms uses Doodle frequently to schedule training and other events, and have found it to be really handy. We look forward to hosting your group soon!
